Disney’s Circle

Our Rating

9 Disney's Circle

I give Disney's Circle a 9 out of 10 just because the go feature is not available yet.

What if there was a resource that you could resource parents with to filter content on smart devices? Disney has created a solution called Circle. In this post, we will look at this device.

I love tech and have loved having my smartphone I definitely do not miss my Nokia days for sure. The smartphone makes our lives so much easier I mean you can automate your home to starting your cars. With this great technology also comes unwanted information to be accessed too. Smartphones have changed how people communicate to how we interact with each other.

What Makes The Circle A Game Changer for Smartphone Management?

filter-detailFilter: Filtering website material on the iphone now requires you to install another browser on the iphone with Circle Go™ it works behind the scenes and allows you to use the main browser on your phone. You can filter your content via your router at home right now and do this but not on the go. Once Circle has its go feature in place it will be a game changer for filtering on the iphone.

circlego-notifications-detailNotifications: Stay informed as a parent to see what is going on live is huge.To be able to see Circle live will give you a peace of mind. It may drive them crazy though.

Time Limits: Families can set daily Time Limits on any app or content category they want. This is a game changer. To be able to set a time limit on any keyword any app does not exist on the iphone. So let’s say your child is playing way to much Minecraft and not studying you can set a time limit and once it is reached they can not access Minecraft.

Everything You Need To Know about the Circle

The Price

The circle is $99 so this can be very economical for families.

TIME LIMITS

Parents can set daily Time Limits on any app or content category they want. With Time Limits, families can customize how much time their kids spend on each platform and set a total online time for the day.1 I believe this is what will set this device apart from anything that is out there monitoring smartphones.

FILTER

Families can set individual filter levels for each family member. Circle with Disney has four preset age-levels and allows for further customization by platform, app, website, and content category. Families can choose a filter that matches each user’s age and interests, filtering out inappropriate content.

INSIGHTS

Families can stay informed about where their kids spend their online time―by platform, category and website. Circle with Disney allows families to see a member’s total time spent online and the sites visited.

PAUSE THE INTERNET

With the press of a button, families can pause the Internet, disabling access to a particular device, individual, or the entire home.

BEDTIME™

Families can create a BedTime™ for each family member and their devices. Simply set a sleep time, when the devices will disconnect from the Internet, and an awake time, for the morning when the devices will reconnect.

GUEST DEVICES

Circle with Disney recognizes when a guest joins the home’s Wi-Fi and can apply a family’s home settings to visitors’ devices.

BLOCK ADS

Circle with Disney can block ads for any user’s devices.

EVERY DEVICE

Circle with Disney knows every single device connected to a family’s network (smart phones, tablets, computers, gaming consoles) and gives families the ability to manage each.

2

These are some great features to create healthy use on smartphones in your home. Currently the Circle only works on devices connected at home. Coming in 2016 not sure exactly when  but Circle Go™  will allow you to enable Circle’s features anywhere, for any network your kid’s devices join. Even 4G.
