I found an awesome tool called Elfster and wanted to share it. Elfter is an online tool that allows people to create groups to exchange gifts. Times in our economy can be hard, One way our family combats hard times when coming to gift buying is having a drawing for each member in our family called a secret santa. Elfster helps making drawings so quick and easy.
Elfster allows you to create a group and then invite family members to participate. Elfster allows the creator of the group to determine the max cost to spent on a gift, date of drawing and date of the gift exchanges. Once your exchange or group is set up Elfster asks each participant to add things to each individuals wish list. The wish list is so cool because it takes the guess-work in gift buying. Elfster does not have a mobile app but does convert the site to a mobile version that works really well. All in all this tool is really neat and I see it to be helpful with our family this year. This will be our family’s first time to use elfster, I will post our experience after our drawing deadline.
If your family is spread out and you’re looking for ways to cut costs on gifts this year check out Elfster – http://www.elfster.com/
What is Elfster?
Elfster is a free online Secret Santa organizer and social networking platform for gift-giving. Elfster gives time-strapped party planners and gift givers the tools to rediscover the joy of gift giving by organizing a Secret Santa exchange. The Elfster algorithm goes something like this:
What is a Secret Santa?
Also called Pollyanna, Kris Kringle or Amigo Secreto, a Secret Santa gift exchange is a tradition in which members of a group are randomly assigned other members to whom they anonymously give a gift. Other gift exchange traditions include Secret Sister, Secret Pal, Secret Cupid and more. You can use Elfster to organize a craft swap, a postcard exchange, a virtual baby shower or a gift exchange for your next family reunion.
How does it work?
